The Mae Chi Hall, which serves as the prayer and chanting hall for the nuns and female lay practitioners of Wat Asokaram—more than one hundred individuals in total—has suffered significant deterioration. Portions of the ceiling have collapsed both inside and outside the building, and the decorative brackets surrounding the hall have become heavily covered with pigeon droppings, creating an ideal environment for the spread of disease.

In particular, although the hall was built more than 40 years ago, it has never undergone a major renovation (apart from a roof replacement three years ago). Therefore, it has been deemed appropriate to undertake comprehensive restoration and improvement works while also providing an opportunity for Buddhists to join together in making merit and supporting this important project.

Wat Asokaram warmly invites all Buddhists to join in supporting and creating merit together with the community of Buddhist nuns, whose numbers have gradually declined in recent years.
